Household Waste Recycling Site

The Household Waste Recycling Site is managed by West Sussex County Council’s Contractor Viridor and they can be contacted on 01243 642106.
 
Household Waste & Recycling SiteThe site is located on Fairbridge Way, Burgess Hill, RH15 8AR (take the eastern exit off the roundabout at the junction of B2036 and the A273). Site Tel: 01444 243041. Over-size vehicle access available.

West Sussex County Council has recently undertaken a public consultation exercise looking at saving £2million per year through changing the opening days and times of sites around the county.  As a result of this consultation, changes to services at Burgess Hill are being implimented by the County Council:

NEW SUMMER TIMETABLE FOR 2017 ONWARDS
Household Waste – Summer Hours - 1 April -30 September (every year)

Monday-Sunday & bank holidays 10am-7pm

WINTER OPENING TIMES FROM 1 OCTOBER 2017 - 31 MARCH 2018
All West Sussex Household Waste Recycling Sites will open at 9am during the winter months. The decision was taken following a review of changes to opening hours which were introduced in October 2016.
Weekdays and weekends (Open every day) - 9:00am - 4:00pm”

Note: the site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day

Effective 11/04/2017: COUNTY COUNCIL SUSPEND CHARGES FOR DIY MATERIALS FOR HOUSEHOLD WASTE

Charges will still apply for:
*
Car and van tyres £4 each
*LGV, tractor and mobile plant tyres- no longer accepted
*Limit trailer sizes 

Payment will be via electronic card payment only (no cash). 

Business & Commercial Waste
There will no longer be a Free of Charge service for businesses seeking to dispose of their waste and recycling using small vehicles.
