The Town Council’s budget for 2002/03 was £633,968.  This sum is raised in total from residents of the town as the Town Council receives no central government grant.  The Town Council is fully accountable to residents each year through the Annual Town Meeting held in April.  This year the Council was able to increase its range of services within a budget of 57 pence per elector per week.  The budget out-turn showed an under spend of £2,250.
