Disabled Parking

Disabled ParkingThere is a nationwide scheme which provides parking concessions to people with severe walking difficulties, who travel either as drivers or as passengers known as the Blue Badge Scheme. The Scheme also applies to registered blind people, and people with very severe upper limb disabilities who regularly drive a vehicle but cannot turn a steering wheel by hand. It allows badge holders to park close to their destination, but these national concessions apply only to on-street parking. The Blue Badges are issued by West Sussex County Council and information on the Scheme and an application form are available on the website: www.westsussex.gov.uk or telephone: 01243 777653
