Allowance is a new government grant to help keep over
16 year olds from low income families in full time education.
The Allowance will pay up to £30 per week.

The Elderly Accommodation Counsel provides all sorts of information on
housing for the elderly with regard to sheltered accommodation.

GROUP OUTINGS
'Contact
the Elderly', Burgess Hill/Haywards Heath, is being set up to offer
elderly people regular Sunday afternoon outings. This group
has been formed in partnership with Age Concern.

organisations are committed to encouraging care for the elderly in the
community and improving their quality of life.

ELECTIONS
(WSCC)
County
council elections will take place across the district on 5 May 2005.
You will only be able to vote if your name is on the register of electors
. The new register for the 2005 was published n 1 December 2--4 and
will be used for any elections that take place this year. You are
advised to check that your name has been included on the register.
If you have recently moved into the area you will need to complete a voter
registration form to ensure that you can vote locally. Make sure
your name is added by March 11, which is the deadline for the county
council elections.
The
closing date for postal applications for this election is 5pm on Tuesday
26 April. If you want to cancel or alter an existing postal vote you
must let us know by pm on Tuesday 19 April 2005. Voter registration
forms and postal vote application forms can be downloaded for the
council's website at www.midsussex.gov.uk.
