QUALIFICATIONS

The UK NARIC is the national agency under contract to the Department for Education and Skills (DfES).  They are the official source of information and advice on the comparability of international qualifications from over 180 countries worldwide with those in the UK.  They also provide information about education systems and qualifications to higher education institutions, professional bodies and commercial organisations.

QUARANTINE FOR PETS

To put your pet into quarantine or to export them contact the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 0870 2411710 (cats and dogs only), or 0845 6030807 (animal health office) or visit www.defra.gov.uk.  Defra’s National Helpline is 0845 9335577.

QUEENS TELEGRAMS

Telegrams from the Queen are available for people celebrating their 100^th, 105^th and subsequent birthdays and also for couples celebrating their 60^th, 65^th and subsequent Wedding Anniversaries.  To apply for a Telegram contact Buckingham Palace direct on 0207 9304832 or write to The Anniversary’s Office, Buckingham Palace, London, SW1A 1AA or visit www.royal.gov.uk.  Please do not send the request more than three weeks before the birthday or anniversary date.  If sending in the post, enclose either the original or certified copy of the Birth or Marriage Certificate.
