A person with a disability
The
Independent Living Association promotes and supports independence for disabled people in West Sussex. They help people set up and run their own care support under the county's Direct Payments (DP) scheme, personal budgets and other forms of self-directed support. One of their Support Groups meets at the Gateway Baptist Church every second Wednesday of the month and they organise other groups in Chichester, Crawley & Worthing. Contact a Family supports families who care for children with any disability or special need and offers a range of services including a freephone helpline. They work to influence services and campaign to improve the quality of life for families with disabled children and also provide information to professionals and developmental advice to support groups.  Contact the Helpline on 0808 808 3555 or textphone 0808 808 3556 (open Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm & Monday, 5.30-7.30pm) or email helpline@cafamily.org.uk.
