Burgess Hill’s
town centre offers all the convenience of excellent shopping facilities
with plentiful parking close to the shops and easy access by public
transport. A wide
range of independent shops and high street stores can be found in Market
Place indoor shopping centre, Martlets outdoor shopping centre and the
central thoroughfare of
Church Road
and pedestrianised Church Walk, with good disabled
access.
The town centre offers plenty of shops catering for everyday needs as well
as items for a special occasion. Large
items such as electrical goods, carpets and flooring, bedding, bathrooms,
computers and furniture are also available at competitive high street
prices.

A
twice weekly open air market runs every
Wednesday and
Saturday in the Martlets pedestrianised area from 9am till
4pm. There is also a twice yearly French market which takes place in
June and December.
A variety of special events take place in the town centre throughout
the year including St Georges Day celebrations in April, the popular Summer Festival in June and the
Christmas
Festival in December. These events attract large numbers of people to enjoy the
festivities.
