A. Applications can be made on line through the Mid Sussex District Council Planning Portal and progress monitored through the public access system.  Application forms are also available from the Burgess Hill Town Council Help Point.

Q Who decides if I can have planning permission?
A. Burgess Hill Town Council Planning Committee comment on applications at their meetings and Mid Sussex District Council South Area Plans Committee make the decision either at their meetings or by a Planning Officer making a delegated decision.

Q How can I appeal against a decision?
A. Guidance on how to appeal and the relevant forms are available through the Mid Sussex District Council Planning Portal.  The Planning Inspectorate is the body responsible for the consideration of planning appeals.  It suggests that an applicant should look to negotiate with the Local Planning Authority in the first instance to achieve a satisfactory conclusion before submitting an appeal.
