Burgess
Hill provides an excellent base for exploring the Sussex countryside whether
on foot or by cycle. It is centrally situated in the heart of the Sussex
Weald and adjacent to the proposed South Downs National Park.
A
range of publications on walking and cycling in the area is available from
the Tourist Information Centre at the Town Council's Help Point. ‘Burgess Hill Countryside Walks’
provides
an easy introduction to the local area with four walks of varying length
starting from Burgess Hill and Wivelsfield Railway stations. A range of
free and saleable books and maps for walkers together with the ever
popular ‘Exploring West Sussex’ guided walks and rides is also
available.
For
cyclists, the Tourist Information
Centre stocks information on the main cycle trails in the area
including the Cuckoo Trail, Worth Way, Downs Link and National
Cycle Network routes.
