Burgess Hill Summer Festival 2019

Welcome to Burgess Hill Summer Festival 2019!

This year’s Burgess Hill Summer Festival takes place from Saturday 1 to Sunday 9 June – with 62 events taking place over 9 days. The Festival is a celebration of the wealth of talent and creativity the town has to offer.

Highlights include a welcome return by acclaimed professional theatre company The Lord Chamberlain’s Men who are celebrating their 15th year and will bring their open-air production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the lovely grounds of Burgess Hill Girls. There are some great events for young people with VR gaming, a Skate Fest and Roller Disco, plus a chance to learn how to make and present a radio programme.  Plus a variety of music from classical to show-time through to 80s disco, a behind the scenes look at an innovative Burgess Hill company as well as a view of Burgess Hill’s brick and tile making past.

We have special events this year for children with additional needs and disabilities, and for people living with Dementia and their carers.

A variety of free and low-cost workshops and taster sessions are also on offer, providing plenty of opportunity to get creative and try out new activities. There is something for all ages and pockets - 48 of the 62 events are free or cost £6 or less.

The Festival is co-ordinated by Burgess Hill Town Council with 40 local groups, businesses and individuals organising events this year. Event sponsors include Burgess Hill District Lions Club, The Rotary Club of Burgess Hill & District and Waitrose. We are very grateful to them all.

Tickets and booking are available from Wednesday 1 May.

We hope you enjoy Burgess Hill Summer Festival 2019!
