Batchelors Farm Community Picnic
Saturday 19 August, 11am – 3pm
Join us to celebrate 30 years of Town Council ownership of local nature reserve, Batchelors Farm.
To mark the occasion, we are organizing a community picnic. Bring your picnic blanket and a hamper and join the fun!
The event will include nature-themed activities run by local community groups. Make nesting circles with Burgess Hill Swift Supporters, bug hotels with Central Sussex Rotary and West Sussex Wildlife Trust, or join the Lost Woods team on a nature ramble – there will be lots to learn!
The event will also include the official opening of the new community orchard. At 12:30pm, the Town Mayor will open the new orchard, which was planted in March 2023. The orchard is open for the use of all residents to pick fruit and enjoy the spectacular views of the South Downs.
The celebration will be held in the top field of Batchelors Farm, near the water tower, where the orchard is planted.
There is no parking at the event, as the site is only accessible on foot. Those who choose to drive to the area are asked to park respectfully.
We can’t wait to have you all join us for this exciting afternoon!
