MAYOR’S BALL RAISES £1045 FOR CHARITY

Burgess Hill Mayor Chris Cherry was delighted by the kind and generous response to her charity appeal at her Ball on Saturday 17 November. This was her first major fundraising exercise and saw 70 guests dance the night away Gatsby style at the Hickstead Hotel. Included in the guest list were the Chairman and past Chairmen of Mid Sussex District Council as well as Mayors from neighbouring towns.

Sponsors provided outstanding prizes for the raffle and auction and a total of £1045 was raised for the Help for Heroes charity and the Woodlands Meed Trust. Cheques will be presented to both organisations at the Council meeting on 26 November. The Mayor would like to thank the following sponsors:

Filipino/British association of England
P.S. Gallagher Funeral Directors
Hassocks Golf Club
Flavour Restaurant
Bennett Christmas Insurance
Martin Stoner Jewellers
