Respite Care

Respite CareCommunity Mental Health Team
The Community Mental Health Team organises a sitting service of 3-4 hours per week as part of a home care package to support carers.  Respite care is available for periods of one night to a month at Blackthorns in Lindfield and respite beds are also available at Villa Adastra in Keymer.  Places in private residential nursing homes can be purchased to provide respite for carers.  Beech Hurst in Haywards Heath has three beds and takes people with severe dementia.  Beech Hurst is part of the National Health Service and is therefore free whereas there is a charge for other respite care.  Burgess Hill has 5 nursing homes that offer respite care when places are available.  For information please contact the Community Mental Health Team at Linwood on 01444 416606.
