COVID-19 Update – Allotment Buddy Scheme
Due to the current pandemic, the Council is aware that a number of allotment tenants are having to self-isolate or shield due to underlying health conditions or having symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19).
In order to assist these tenants the Council is proposing a new Allotment Buddy Scheme which could include working a self-isolating tenant’s plot, harvesting their produce and delivering to their home – whilst adhering to the social distancing rules set by the government.
For more information, or to volunteer for this scheme, please contact Gemma Wallis on 01444 238225 or email@example.com. To qualify to be a volunteer you must be an existing allotment tenant.
(This scheme would form part of your 1 hour a day exercise, as instructed by the government)
Allotment plots are available to Burgess Hill residents only.
The allotment sizes vary at each site with reasonable rental charges and a reduction for those aged over 65.
All the sites are enclosed and have running water. Five of the sites have a shed for communal use.
To date there are waiting lists for each of our sites. If you would like to go on the waiting list please use the form on the right to submit your details.

An allotment requires commitment and the Council inspect the plots regularly to ensure that they are being used and maintained to an acceptable standard.
