The Household Waste Recycling Site is managed by West Sussex County Council’s Contractor Viridor and they can be contacted on 01243 642106.

Charges will still apply for:

Car and van tyres £4 each
*LGV, tractor and mobile plant tyres- no longer accepted
*Limit trailer sizes 

Payment will be via electronic card payment only (no cash). 

Business & Commercial Waste
There will no longer be a Free of Charge service for businesses seeking to dispose of their waste and recycling using small vehicles.

FROM 1 OCTOBER 2018

West Sussex residents who drive a commercial-type vehicle will need to have a permit to dispose of their household waste at County Council recycling sites. The permit will apply to anyone who uses a van, pickup or single axle trailer and will be available to West Sussex residents only.

In addition, some vehicles will no longer be allowed to use HWRSs. Restricted vehicles include:

  • multi axle trailers,
  • horse boxes,
  • tipper trucks,
  • flatbed or dropside trucks,
  • luton type vans.

For health and safety reasons all trailers will be banned from Bognor Regis and Littlehampton sites. Residents can start applying for a permit from1 August 2018. To find out more visit www.westsussex.gov.uk/permitscheme
