Summer Fayre 2025

Summer Fayre 2025 – What a Day!

Thank you to everyone who came along to this year’s Summer Fayre on Sunday 22 June in St John’s Park. It was our biggest one yet and a brilliant day from start to finish.

The event kicked off with a fantastic community parade, led by Burgess Hill Marching Youth Band and joined by our parade sponsors, the Burgess Hill District Lions. Seven local primary schools and several youth organisations took part, bringing colour, energy and creativity to the park. It was a great way to start the day.

Over 80 stalls filled the park, with something for everyone, Spanish and Greek food, sweet treats from local charities and businesses and plenty of community groups offering activities, games and information. The BBQ from Burgess Hill Bonfire Society was as popular as ever and sold out before the end of the day.

Entertainment was on all day, including a packed arena schedule with music, dance and displays. Highlights included a brilliant BMX stunt show, birds of prey from Huxleys (sponsored by Good Oaks, Quality Care at Home), and walkabout butterfly performers keeping the crowd smiling.

There were free activities for all ages – circus skills, slackline balancing, inflatables, and a dedicated under 5s area provided by the Triangle Leisure Centre.

Sadly, due to the warm weather, the dog show had to be cancelled — but Heath Vets still joined us with a stall and lots of giveaways.

We’ve had some lovely feedback from stallholders and groups:
“We had our highest sales of the year and a lot of interest in our work. Our volunteers really enjoyed the day.” — Eric Palmer, BH-Shed

“What a lovely event to be part of. The organisation was brilliant and we were so thankful to be included.” — Kathy O’Regan, Pet Portraits

“We always love performing in our home town — thank you for having us lead the parade!” — Burgess Hill Marching Youth

“It was fabulous to see the community come together and enjoy the activities. Well done to the Council for bringing it all together.” — Elena Mlajiceanu, Good Oaks

Deputy Town Mayor David Eggleton summed up the day perfectly:
“The community groups, our team, and the many volunteers truly did the town proud. The predictions that it would be the best Summer Fayre ever were right — and we’re already looking ahead to making next year’s even better.”
