Wowzer Wednesdays
Wowzer Wednesdays are a staple in the Town Council holiday programme. With events in May half-term, the summer holidays and October half-term, there is always something for families to enjoy over the holiday period. Burgess Hill Town Council provides these FREE activities for the benefit of our community.

Summer Holidays 2026
We’re so excited for the Wowzer Wednesday events this summer!
Craft Sessions – 5 August – TICKETS AVAILABLE TO BOOK FROM 22 JULY.
The sessions will take place at Burgess Hill Creative Community, which is located at 77 Church Walk, Burgess Hill, RH15 9BQ. Spaces must be booked in advance from 22nd July by visiting Ticketsource or via the Help Point by calling 01444 247726 or in person at 96 Church Walk.
The free craft sessions will take place at 10am,11am,12pm (SEND session).
Circus All Stars – 12th August – Just Turn Up
Can you Juggle? Or Hula Hoop? If you’ve never tried or are a pro, your invited to join our Circus Skills workshop. The free session will run between 11am – 1pm at The Band Stand on Church Walk. Please turn up whenever you would like during this time.
JOLF – 19th August – Just Turn Up
Fancy trying golf for the first time? Or already enjoy a round of mini golf but want to build new skills?
Come along and join JOLF a fun, games-based approach to learning golf that puts children in charge of their own learning and development. Feel free to drop in at any time during the session.
The session will run from 11am-1pm at The Stone Garden, Church Walk.
Inflatables – 26th August – Register upon arrival
Ready, Set, Bounce! Join us in St Johns Park 11am-3pm for inflatables. Please register at the town council gazebo when you arrive and enjoy the park full of inflatables.
*Please note for this sessions -children must be accompanied at all times and dependant on length, queues may be closed from 2.30pm, to allow the session to finish at 3pm. This event is weather dependant and therefore may be cancelled at late notice or even during the event, please keep an eye on our socials for updates.

2025
May Half Term
Opening the Wowzer Wednesday series in style for 2025, the ever popular inflatables returned to St John’s Park on Wednesday 28 May. There was be an assault course, bouncy pillow, laser tag, and a separate under 5’s area with a small bouncy castle and soft play run by The Triangle!
2024
October Half Term
Wowzer Wednesday moved to Monday 28th, (as a little Halloween trick!) with Halloween crafts and science sessions at The Kiln. Children enjoyed experiments including gravity testing and guess the weight of the cake! Burgess Hill Creative Community then ran craft sessions on the afternoon.
Summer Holidays
The summer holidays saw 6 Wowzer Wednesdays, all with different activities so hundreds of children were entertained across the holidays! Launching on 24 July with Tale of Jemima Puddleduck by Quantum Theatre, there was then circus skills with Circus Allstars and hilarity at Tom Foolery’s magic shows! Burgess Hill Creative Community ran crafts at the Bandstand and Jolf tested kids skills with their mini golf set up in the Stone Garden. The summer holiday series came to an end with inflatable extravaganza St John’s Park on Wednesday 28 August!
May Half Term
Wowzer Wednesdays in 2024 launched in May half term with over 350 children attending the free inflatables session in St John’s Park! Everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoyed the free fruit provided by Co-Op, as well as the Little Kickers tasters and Triangle Leisure Centre’s soft play.
2023
We had a whole range of fun holiday activities in 2023 for our Wowzer Wednesday programme! May saw our annual inflatables event in St John’s Park with hundreds of happy faces enjoying the sunshine. Summer returned to the town centre with crafts, magic, puppetry and circus skills by the bandstand – another inflatable extravaganza finished out the holidays with a bang! The Witches Mountain returned in October, where children could climb to the highest peak of the climbing wall. Christmas was started in style with a synthetic ice-rink in Church Walk for the December Wowzer Wednesday!
