Wowzer Wednesday

Wowzer Wednesdays

Wowzer Wednesdays are a staple in the Town Council holiday programme.
With events in May half-term, the summer holidays and October half-term, there is always something for families to enjoy over the holiday period.

May Half-Term

In 2024, Wowzer Wednesdays will return with an inflatable extravaganza in St John’s Park on 29 May.
Join us for inflatable laser tag, an inflatable assault course and an air mountain pillow bouncy castle – all for free!
The younger ones can enjoy a separate under-fives area with a bounce and slide, and soft play from the Triangle Leisure Centre.
Little Kickers will be joining us for kids to test their skills and have a taste of their football lessons.
With music, laughter, and free snacks generously provided by the Co-Op, what’s not to like?

Don’t miss out, join us from 11am – 3pm, on Wednesday 29 May!

Summer Holidays

The fun doesn’t stop with our Wowzer Wednesday series continuing throughout the summer holidays.
We’ll have a whole host of activities, every Wednesday in the holiday period.

Opening in style, we’re starting with the Tale of Jemima Puddleduck on Wednesday 24 July. Join us in St John’s Park for some free open-air theatre!
From then, we’ll have a different activity every Wednesday in the town centre, by the bandstand – stay tuned for more information…
The summer holiday series will finish with another inflatable extravaganza in St John’s Park on Wednesday 28 August.

We’ll be revealing more information on the events in the coming months, so be sure to check out our social media, or sign up to our events mailing list.

October Half-Term

More information will be coming soon!

2023

We had a whole range of fun holiday activities in 2023 for our Wowzer Wednesday programme!
May saw our annual inflatables event in St John’s Park with hundreds of happy faces enjoying the sunshine.
Summer returned to the town centre with crafts, magic, puppetry and circus skills by the bandstand – another inflatable extravaganza finished out the holidays with a bang!
The Witches Mountain returned in October, where children could climb to the highest peak of the climbing wall.
Christmas was started in style with a synthetic ice-rink in Church Walk for the December Wowzer Wednesday!

Thank you to everyone who came along for the events in 2023 – we can’t wait to see you all in 2024!
