Grants for Community Groups

Grant applications are considered annually by the Grants Committee. The deadline for submission is 30th June. Applications for the 2026/2027 tax year are open April-30 June.
Burgess Hill Town Council have reviewed the process in March 2026 and the timings have changed accordingly.
Applicants are advised to read the Guidance Notes and Conditions of Funding prior to starting your application. Key Points to consider:
• Funds must be claimed by 31 March and an evaluation form must be completed prior to funds being released.
• To restrict the scheme to organisations that have ‘Net Current Assets’ of less than £1 million to ensure that the scheme supports smaller groups.
• Preference is given to those groups that have not received a grant in the last 24 months.
• Minor and Major grants are considered at same meeting and there is one funding pot available.
Minor Grants (up to £1,000)
Minor Grants of up to £1,000 are available for running costs as well as capital expenditure. The application deadline for Minor Grants Applications is 30 June, for consideration within three months.

Major Grants (£1,000 and over)

The Community Engagement Team will review your application after the deadline date and notify of the meeting date when the applications will be considered. Attendance from applicants is encouraged.
